Alessandro Retis, DMD
Dr. Retis was born in Lima, Peru. His family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada when he was 11 years old. He graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) with a B.S in Biology and a Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD). During this time, he was the recipient of numerous awards for his research in oral cancer, achievements in oral surgery, and most importantly, for exemplifying compassionate humanitarian service by leading multiple humanitarian dental missions to South America. From a young age he has always dreamed and aspired to work in a profession where he could and would change people’s lives.
After graduation, Dr. Retis was selected for and completed an intensive 1-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery internship at the LAC+USC Medical Center of the University of Southern California (USC).
In this level 1 trauma center he was one of the primary residents on call for maxillofacial trauma. He was responsible for teaching the USC dental students dentoalveolar surgery and wisdom teeth extractions. Additionally, he spent many hours in the operating room assisting in a broad scope of maxillofacial surgeries. He has since completed extensive training in dental implants as well as oral and IV sedations.
After completing this prestigious internship, Dr. Retis accepted a position in our beautiful state of Texas, where he quickly emerged as a top dentist throughout El Paso. His mission at El Paso Family Dental is to create beautiful and healthy smiles through comfort focused dentistry for your whole family. Dr. Retis wants every parent and child to feel comfortable and at ease during their dental appointment. His biggest value is trust and he enjoys personally connecting with each patient to provide a unique, thoughtful and tailored dental experience for every individual.
Outside of El Paso Family Dental, Dr. Retis loves spending time with his wife and three children. One of their favorite hobbies is discovering new local restaurants and eateries. Dr. Retis loves working out before going to work every day!
